Biogas generation from kitchen waste

Biogas generation from kitchen waste

Dat: 2023-02-06 Clicks:

Food waste refers to perishable, organic waste, including household food waste, kitchen waste and other food waste. In recent years, with the accelerated pace of urbanisation, the population in urban and rural areas has increased dramatically and food waste is growing rapidly.

In the past, food waste, fruit and vegetable waste generated by the majority of households was disposed of in landfills or incinerated together with domestic waste for a long time, making perishable waste containing a large amount of organic matter unable to be adequately resourceful. In order to be more eco-friendly and to build a waste-free city and township, a food waste resource disposal project is at hand.

The current treatment of food waste generally adopts the process of "crushing + pressing and dewatering + slurry anaerobic treatment + biogas incineration and power generation", which will "reduce, resource and harmless" the food waste and fruit and vegetable waste. The products obtained after disposal are solid residue, digestate and biogas, of which the product of the anaerobic fermentation process is biogas, which can be incinerated to generate electricity and resources, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the kitchen waste treatment.

With the "carbon neutrality" target set for 2060, China has put forward higher requirements for the way energy is produced and consumed. As one of the emerging technologies for power generation based on the use of renewable energy, biogas power generation is booming and has promising development prospects and market space.

As one of the very few authorised OEM partners of MWM worldwide, Tide Power's gas-fired generator sets enable the efficient use of renewable energy sources. Numerical simulations to optimise fluid losses enable high electrical efficiencies (44.4% natural gas (NG) / 44.2% biogas (BG)) to be achieved over the power range of Tide Power's gas-fired generators, resulting in significant economic benefits at low operating costs and energy savings that are among the highest in their class.
