In areas beyond the reach of the power grid, electricity is productivity. Drilling, pumping, camp life — every facet of oilfield operations depends on continuous, reliable power supply.
Tide Power delivered a 575kVA silent diesel generator set to an oilfield client in East Africa, providing dependable power to keep on-site operations running without interruption.

Project Overview
- Location: East Africa
- Application: Oilfield operations power supply
- Unit model: FC575-LP (50Hz, 415V)
- Engine: Lister Petter
- Alternator: Leroy-Somer
A System Solution Matched to Oilfield Operating Conditions
Oilfield power loads have their own distinct characteristics — drilling, pumping, lighting, and other loads stack together, requiring both sufficient capacity headroom and the avoidance of over-specification that leads to waste. Based on the client’s actual electricity demands and future expansion plans, Tide Power recommended the 575kVA power range — precisely covering the typical load profile of mid-sized oilfield operations.

The unit is powered by a British Lister Petter LP625EG2 engine — a six-cylinder turbocharged powerplant backed by over 160 years of industrial heritage, proven in harsh operating environments such as mining and oilfields worldwide. Paired with a Leroy-Somer alternator, it forms a mature and reliable “golden combination.” The Deep Sea controller adds a high degree of flexibility to the system, supporting parallel operation of up to 32 units — whether running a single unit independently or coordinating multiple machines, precise load distribution and automatic scheduling are achieved seamlessly.
Factory Acceptance Testing: Witnessed by the Client
The client visited the Tide Power factory to conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on two units — verifying startup performance, load capacity, and protection functions one by one. Throughout the testing process, the units operated smoothly, with all performance indicators meeting design specifications. A dedicated noise measurement session was also conducted on-site, with readings taken at 1-metre and 7-metre distances under 100% load conditions. The results fully satisfied the client’s noise control requirements for oilfield operating environments.
Following the acceptance testing, the Tide Power technical team provided on-site operational training and basic maintenance guidance for the client’s engineers — covering daily operating procedures, common fault troubleshooting, and maintenance essentials — ensuring the units could be rapidly deployed on site and operate stably over the long term.

From solution matching and factory acceptance testing through to operational training, Tide Power delivered end-to-end support covering every critical stage of the equipment delivery process. The units have now been deployed at the East African oilfield, injecting continuous, reliable power into on-site operations.
As a professional energy solutions provider, Tide Power’s business spans six major segments: diesel and gas generator sets, hybrid energy and energy storage systems, diesel engine pump sets and other general machinery, parts and aftermarket services, and independent power plant projects.
