Case Study: D-Series Multistage Pump Set Conquers 396-Metre Head Challenge

By tidepower 22 May, 2026

Crude oil transportation leaves no room for error. High temperatures, heavy dust, long-distance pipelines, and 24/7 continuous operation — any downtime at any stage can result in significant economic losses.

Recently, Tide Power engineered a custom diesel-driven high-pressure pump system solution for a crude oil transport project in West Africa. The D-series multistage pump set, with its robust power and stable performance, successfully conquered the high-head challenge of the local pipeline, earning the client’s high recognition.

D-Series Multistage Pump Set — Customized Solution

  • Rated flow rate: 335 m³/h
  • Rated head: 396 m
  • Application: Crude oil transportation
  • Power: Cummins diesel engine
  • Pump: Premium-brand high-efficiency multistage pump
  • System integration: Skid-mounted design for easy on-site installation

Tide Power offers a comprehensive diesel engine pump product line covering a wide range of operating conditions. Following a “one pump, one solution” customization philosophy, we provide end-to-end service from product selection and integration to after-sales support. For this project, the D-series multistage pump set was selected — using multiple impellers in series for progressive pressurization, perfectly meeting the high-head, high-flow requirements.

The D-series is a mature Tide Power product line designed for oil and gas, mining, fire protection, and industrial water supply and drainage applications. It is suitable for transporting crude oil, refined oil, industrial water, firefighting water, and other media. For this project, we made the following specialized adaptations:

  • Power selection: Cummins engine selected for excellent fuel economy and suitability for prolonged high-load operation, meeting the demands of long-distance field transportation.
  • Control and protection: Optional intelligent controller enabling automatic start/stop, remote monitoring, and fault alarms — reducing on-site staffing costs.
  • Adaptive design: The cooling system and air filter were optimized for the high-temperature, high-dust environment of the West African project site, enhancing the unit’s continuous operation capability under harsh conditions.

Tide Power “Transformers”: Built for Extreme Conditions

Tide Power’s product range extends far beyond pump sets. We have built a comprehensive business portfolio spanning diesel and gas generator sets, hybrid energy storage systems, construction machinery, aftermarket services, and IPP independent power plant projects — six segments working in synergy to provide clients with end-to-end solutions from individual equipment to project-level EPC delivery.

From containerized diesel generator sets and silent-type generators to open-type diesel and gas units, solar-diesel-storage hybrid energy and energy storage systems, multiple pump series, and general machinery products such as mini excavators — every piece of equipment is purpose-built and deeply adapted to real-world operating conditions. Tide Power’s high-quality “Transformers” are battle-tested across the most extreme working environments.
